Ingredients:
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder optional, for enhanced chocolate flavor
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 180C
Grease a 9x13-inch 23x33 cm baking pan
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in short intervals until fully melted
Alternatively, you can melt it on the stovetop
Let it cool slightly
Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and espresso powder if using
Add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth
Stir in the vanilla extract and then fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined
Finally, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly
Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached
Be careful not to overbake; you want the brownies to be fudgy
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack
Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy your King Arthur Flour Fudge Brownies
